View Full Version : Sway Bar

I slotted the mounting tabs and the bushing brackets on my sway bar mounts to give me a little more clearance between the bar and my fan so I could run a shroud. The stand-offs that mount the bar to the control arms used to be vertical but now tilt back about 10 degrees. Is this going to effect handling? Can the alignment be changed to take up for it or should I have left it alone?

We've done the same thing to several cars and it had no effect on handling. Post pics of the shroud when you have time.

Thanks. My shroud is not much to see, just a steel sheet, cut to fit , with a big round hole in the middle. I'll rivet it to the radiator top and bottom and seal the whole thing off with weather stripping. It should stand off about an inch and give me a little air flow room. Before I pull the first rivet or shake the rattle can I'll use Red Green's universal fastener (duct tape) and put it all together to check for clearance. If I don't have any I'll go back to the drawing board.

Thanks, OLBLU66. I saved the "deluxe photo set" from your old post and I sometimes call them up and drool. I'd love to try a shroud like yours but my metal working skills just aren't up to the task. If this doesn't work I may give it a shot.
