What is the approximate weight of a bare body?

I would guess 400 - 450 lbs. Four friends and a 18 pack lifted it off.

WOW! That's pretty heavy. Is there any danger to cracking the body by lifting at the wheel wells?

I don't know the exact weight but I would guess around 300lbs. You won't crack the body unless you wreck it, hand laid glass is very flexable.

Bill, When I dropped my body off at the painter, five of us lifted the body and the 2x4 cradle. By the way once I'm done you can have the cradle if your interested.
