A while back Brent posted a link to a hot lap of the Nurnburgring in a BMW M3 GTR driven by Hans Stuck. The link is down now, but I found this almost-as-good-one surfing the Net tonight...
This is one lap in the famous RUF Porsche 'Yellow Bird'. 600 hp twin turbo 911 built in the early 90's if I remember correctly.
I think the alternative title for this could be 'traction control is for wussies'.
Warning: A clean pair of underwear or a Depend absorbent product is necessary for viewing this movie. Oh yeah, so is a fast connection.

The internet gods have given once again. Here's another...
The alternative title for this one would be 'How f*$^!#& fast do you have to be going to use 6th?'

Thanks Brian,
Those were good.
Do you know of any footage of a Cobra going around a track. I'd like to see that open cockpit flying around a track with the sound of a good old American V8 screaming.

It's open cockpit - but not a Cobra. It's got tons of HP - but not an American V-8. It is a cool video and a very fast lap aropund the "Ring"

Tony,
There used to be a real nice two lap video of Road America in an all black big-block Hi-Tech Cobra at this link...Not sure if it is still there.

This guy is not even wearing a helment or driving gloves. Sure do get to hear the tires heat up.

Great clips Brian, I really liked how the guy in the Porsche worked the steering wheel during the drifts.
The guy in the Skyline looked a whole lot smoother but again we just don't know how fast they were going and a thousand other details.

That looks like a boat load of fun. The driver is extremely talented and obvioulsy has a ton of seat time in Porsche's. They like to go backwards if you get out of the throttle.

I would have liked to see the expression in the eyes of the two motorcycle riders he passed! A field trip may be in order to the Nurburgring.
