My Throw Out Bearing came today from McLeod.:D
Will have to go by the speed shop tomorrow to get longer 5/16 bolts.
My shifter was way out of adjustment. I mean WWAAYY OOUUTT.
Would it have hurt my trans with them and me pushing it around?
I adjusted it with the neutral alignment method and it shifts good even sitting on the work bench.
Just worried if the trans might have been hurt in anyway.

Thanks
Tony

Tony,
Make sure the 5/16" bolts are grade 8 and you use a hardened flat washer, as you cannot torque a lockwasher effectively. Best I remember
the bolt threads must be sealed as they go into the transmission cavity.

Thanks Rick,

Bearing is on and torqued. Trans is back in and off of my workbench...thank goodness!
Pulled cover and checked the inside. You are correct in that the bolts go into the casing on top, not sure about the bottom ones as no gear lube leaked out when bolts were out. sealeded them anyway.

Top to case and trans to bellhousing bolts torqued to factory specs.

Does this mess look right. It shifts good now that I Adjusted it.

Be sure to secure your braided stainless steel lines;), don't need the clutch to catch them at 3,000 RPM:(.

Thanks Guys,
Lines are already secured to the bolt holes for the old fork pivot,
but it is a very good point to post for the Hyd.T.O. bearing install.

Talk to Painter today and went by his shop. ( didn't have Camera)
He just started on the car, as his father passed away the Sunday before last and they just buried him Thursday the 9th. I told him then no rush because of the situation, so I was surprised to hear him say he started on it already. Sanded the hole car. Still has good things to say about the body. Sanded great, no soft spots, very little point up and wants a ride when its done.[^]

Tony, I did the same thing. Went around to all the guys and gals I got services from: body lifters, welding, powdercoat, NAPA parts, the painter, the guys that did some machining, fuel line parts,..the list goes on and on and it was all fun!! Couple of weeks ago a guy called and wanted to see my car ended up spending a couple of hours and a long ride. It is just too much fun to introduce folks to these great cars... ENJOY:D
