Very funny Brian. But, I'm wondering why Buzz thought it might have been me? I must admit I wish I'd thought of it[:P].

Brent, my post states: "Ron, no matter what "Yank" does [u](and he has done some great stuff), </u>that will always be known as the infamous "Spence car". You just can't mess with history!
I have followed every step of the incredible transformation that Brian is accomplishing and I am in awe of the dedication and workmanship going into it. I was simply playing along on Compterworks' tongue in cheek post about the car's provenance and history - it is and will remain one of the most famous of all Unique FIA's.
Clay, when I saw the post, I knew right away that it was an April fool's gag. I figured it had to be someone from this group and threw out a wild guess to start the ball rolling. It never occurred to me that it might be Brian although Ron's post seemed to hint that he thought so (come to think of it if anyone would know, it would be Ron wouldn't it?).
No offence(s) intended.

My post states: " I like Buzz's post"
All in fun [^]
It will surely always be the "Spence car" no doubt about it.

Brian (AKA Spence), is that the car that was on Cobra Country for what seemed like a year or two? Seems like it was there for a long time and sure looked pretty .. rough to say the least from the picture. Apparently was rougher on personal inspection. Congratulations on your restoration!! Rick

Rick,
Yes, this car was on Cobra Country for a loooong time. The story is a long one that I'll tell you one day in person, but suffice to say that many people tried to buy the car from the original owner but he wouldn't sell. His was more of a personal issue for some reason that I have never learned.
My comments on the car were more for fun, to be perfectly honest, the car was fine. Dirty, a little screwed up in the assembly, but the guy had never taken the body off. It's hard to screw up a car like this in any major way while working through the hood opening and the trunk. Our work has been resoration, modification, and changes more than anything.
The dark tales of how messed up the car was were only that. Stories, from 'experts' that had never seen it. It was amazing to me to hear from folks that were telling me things about the car (while it was in my garage mind you) that weren't even remotely true. The frame has never been cut, it does have a rear suspension, it does have an MSO, etc, etc.
I'm glad to be the custodian of this soon to be fine car.
