What an incredible January 1. Had the kids and grand kids over for brunch, and then lured my son-in-law into the garage to help me hang the doors.
Here's a nugget of information for those of you that haven't taken your car to the painter yet. Adjust your doors and trunk deck before you take the car to the painter. I was in a hurry to get mine off to the painter in September before he got busy for the winter and didn't take the time I should have making final adjustments – not that it would have mattered.
My painter probably does 5-6 FFRs a month, but has only done a few Unique’s, so he's not aware of all the nuances having to do with the plate the trunk hinges hang from, the door hinges and spacers, etc.... so he removed them! <img src=images/icon_speech_ugh.gif border=0 width=23 height=15 alt=Insert Speech Icon: Ugh> It's a major pain to get everything back in place, particularly the trunk (unless you know a midget you can stuff in the back - close the trunk - and have him tighten down the nuts.
I kinda feel like I did when I graduated from high school - thrilled that I made it, and sad that it was over (although this is a work in progress for many years to come). With that said, he is what was accomplished today.
